More than just a band, BLOOD first formed in February 2002 and is an artistic group of musicians who pursue their own musical sound and world view. The word BLOOD means "the origin" or "pure tribe". Each member brings to the band their own unique talents, creativity, thoughts and feelings. Together they create music and live performances which re-define the term 'stage presence'. BLOOD also means "passion" or "violent emotion", and through their music they try to express the many passionate emotions we feel as human beings.

The band consists of three members: Kiwamu, Kaede, and Fu-ki. Kiwamu is not only the band's extremely talented guitarist, he does programming, is a gifted songwriter, and is also a VJ, creating visual effects for their live shows. Being an incredibly talented artist, he creates all of the artwork for their merchandise such as CD jackets, inserts and other goods. He designs and maintains their official website and is the head of their production company, CURE. Kaede contributes his considerable talents to the band, playing bass and syn-bass with amazing skill and expressing his sense of artistry in the visual aspects of the band. He occasionally writes lyrics as well. Fu-ki writes lyrics and adds his creative input to their musical arrangements along with his phenomenal storytelling vocals. While Kiwamu and Kaede form the core of BLOOD, the musical structure of the band can change with each song. They create songs that defy a musical "framework" by the absence of a fixed form within the band and the participation of guest musicians.
